J.R.R. Tolkien himself had a vision for making his children’s story, ‘The Hobbit,’ into something darker for adults, something more like his epic trilogy, ‘The Lord of the Rings.’ What Tolkien was never able to do in writing, movie director Peter Jackson has now done for the big screen.
